    DMCI launches One Fortis Plaza

DMCI Project Developers Inc. (DMCI-PDI), the real estate arm of listed DMCI Holdings, Inc., is expanding beyond residential projects with the launch of One Fortis Plaza, a 17-story office tower in Makati City that marks the company’s entry into the office development segment.

The company said Thursday that the project would rise along Chino Roces Avenue within the Makati Southwest Gateway redevelopment area, where the city government is transforming part of the corridor into a mixed-use district.

The office building will occupy a 2,400-square-meter property and feature 15 units with approximately 1,400 square meters of floor space each. It is scheduled for completion and occupancy by April 2028.

DMCI-PDI said the development was designed to meet growing demand for office spaces with convenient access to public transportation, noting that the property is only about 300 meters away from the MRT-3 Magallanes Station.

The company cited a recent Colliers Philippines report saying that accessibility had become a key consideration for office occupiers, with proximity to mass transit increasingly taking precedence over factors such as rental cost and distance.

“As more companies prioritize accessibility and convenience for their employees, we see a growing demand for office spaces located near major transportation hubs,” DMCI-PDI Vice President Dennis Yap said.

Shares of parent company DMCI Holdings, Inc. on Thursday dropped P0.11, or 1.49 percent, to close at P7.26 each.
