CITYSTATE Savings Bank on Wednesday reported a net income of P1.19 billion for the first six months of 2026, broadly unchanged from the same period last year.

The thrift bank said growth in its lending business helped offset the impact of global geopolitical uncertainties and a challenging economic environment.

The stable performance was said to have been supported by continued expansion of its core lending business, with net interest income rising about 16 percent year on year to P5.49 billion, driven mainly by sustained growth in its salary and business loan portfolios.

Total assets increased to P225.58 billion, supported by a customer base of more than 1.2 million. Gross loans, excluding interbank loans, climbed 8 percent to P158.80 billion while deposits rose 10 percent to P199.42 billion.

Asset quality remained healthy, with the non-performing loan ratio at about 2.90 percent. The bank said it nearly doubled its loan-loss reserves to strengthen coverage for non-performing loans as part of its prudent risk management strategy.

“Our disciplined approach to lending has kept our portfolio sound and strong amid prevailing global geopolitical uncertainties and their impact on Philippine economic growth, inflation, and other factors,” Citystate Savings President James Christian Dee said.

Citystate Savings shares last traded on July 29, closing at P13.96 apiece.
